Predeal Forest Run
July 11, 2026 is the date of the 7th edition of Predeal Forest Run – a mountain running event for both amateurs and experienced runners.
Predeal Forest Run is all about the joy of running in the mountains, through the forest – a true experience you’ll be able to talk about for a long time. It’s an event that has grown beautifully, together with the running community formed around the Forest Run events, from 800 runners at the first edition to over 1,700 participants at the July 12, 2025 edition.
Family Run – the route starts on Teleferic Street towards Polistoaca, from where you eventually turn right to enter the forest. The forest trail will lead you to the Cocosul ski slope, which you will descend and follow back towards the finish.
K13, the cross-country race, is suitable both for those who are just beginning mountain running and for experienced runners who want a shorter but intense run. The route’s landmarks include the Polistoaca promenade, the dense forest on the Susai Ridge, the challenge of climbing the Cocosul slope up to Clăbucet Plecare, and then the joy and speed all the way to Gârbova.
K24 is the competition’s half-marathon race, a perfect loop for those who are accustomed to mountain running. The climbs on K24 will keep you working, while the descents will give you the pure pleasure of mountain running.
K32 Piatra Mare is the race introduced in 2023. K32 is the race where you enjoy Piatra Mare Peak (1,844 m) and the Piatra Mare Hut, without descending to the Seven Ladders Canyon as in the case of the K38 race. The elevation gain is also somewhere in between the K24 and K38 races.
Therefore, this race serves as a transition from K24 to K38 for runners who want more, but are not yet ready to take the step toward K38. It’s a mountain route that combines narrow and steep trails with wider, gentler ones.
The last race, but certainly not the least, K38, the marathon of Predeal Forest Run, is designed for runners experienced in mountain running. Even for them, it’s a challenge, considering that the elevation gain for this race is +/- 2,350 m.
