This regulation applies to the Predeal Forest Run competition, a competition organized by Running Media Consulting SRL and the Alergam de Placere Association, which will take place on July 11, 2026 and aims to promote outdoor running.

By participating in this Event, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Official Regulations and applicable legislation in force. All participants also agree to the terms of the self-declaration made available by the Organizers upon collection of the participation kit and must sign it.

The rules of these Regulations may be modified at any time by the organizers. The version of these rules valid on the day before the event will remain valid until the end of the event. Any deviation from the Regulations will result in an official warning or a penalty, which may even include the disqualification of the participant.

This is the latest version of the regulations dated November 25, 2025.

1. Event characteristics

Predeal Forest Run is a running event for amateurs that starts at the base of the Clabucet slope, and the route follows the paths of the Piatra Mare and Baiului massifs. The event has five events: K13 cross, K24 half marathon, K32 Piatra Mare, K38 marathon and Family Run (non-competitive). The minimum age for participation in the competitive events is 14 years for K13 and 18 years for the other events.

The event route will be marked with yellow tape with the red Predeal Forest Run logo and will have volunteers from the organizers at certain points, who will indicate the running direction. Please follow exclusively the official markings and the instructions of the volunteers on the route.

This event is aimed at anyone passionate about running and/or an active lifestyle.

2. Participation fee

The participation fee varies depending on the test as follows:

K13 CROSS: 250 lei

K24 SEMI-MARATHON: 250 lei

K32: 250 lei

K38 MARATON: 250 lei

FAMILY RUN: 110 lei adult, 55 lei child

The participation fee includes:

  • Technical running shirt
  • Cast finisher medal
  • Personalized contest number
  • Products offered by event sponsors and partners
  • Food and hydration points at the start/finish and along the route
  • Live ranking with 4 age categories for each race for each gender and electronic finisher diploma
  • Marked trails
  • Photos from the race
  • Prizes for winners

In the case of the Family Run event, children can only participate if they are individually registered for this event and only accompanied by an adult registered for any of the four events of the event. The participation fee includes:

  • Food and hydration points at the start/finish and along the route
  • Marked trails
  • Photos from the race

IMPORTANT: T-shirt sizes are NOT guaranteed, although we will try to ensure that most participants receive the size requested during registration. If the desired size cannot be selected during registration, it means the stock is depleted. The participant can choose a different size and understand that they will receive the selected size when picking up their kit, or they may opt to cancel their registration. Size changes cannot be made at kit pickup and can only be requested after the event.

3. Registration
  • To register, each participant must complete the online registration form on the official website, predealforestrun.ro, section "SIGN UP" according to the instructions on that page.
  • Each participant signs a declaration upon registration stating that they have read and accept the conditions of participation, that they are fit to run, understand and acknowledge the risks of injury that may occur on the route and fully assume them and will exempt the organizers and sponsors of the event from any liability in the event that they suffer any kind of damage, accident or death.
  • Payment will only be made by card at the time of registration. Otherwise, the registration will be canceled.
  • In case of non-payment of the fee, the registration process must be resumed with the application of the conditions from the resumption of registration.
  • There are no on-site registrations or validations. Cash registrations are not accepted.
  • In case of withdrawal from the competition more than 20 days before the start, the participation fee will be refunded in the amount of 80% of the amount paid.
  • In case of withdrawal from the competition less than 20 days before the start, due to the immediate costs borne by the organizer for each individual registration and the provisions of GEO no. 34/2014, registration fees are not refundable, cannot be changed and are not transferable.
  • Places are transferable to another person or participants can move from one race to another up to 20 days before the start, free of charge. If the participant transfers from a race with a higher entry fee, this difference must be paid. If the participant transfers from a race with a lower entry fee, the difference in fee will not be refunded. No changes can be made to the start list less than 20 days before the start.
  • The registration deadline, as well as the total number of available slots, are approximate. Registrations are open until June 20, 2026, and the estimated number of available registrations is approximately 1,800. These may be adjusted depending on the rate at which the registrations/race categories are filled. Additionally, the information displayed on the website regarding the number of occupied registrations is for reference only, as there may be groups of participants who reserve a larger number of slots simultaneously within a short period of time.
4. Ranking
  • Each race will have its own ranking that will contain each runner's time as well as the ranking position for the following categories: Open, Women's Open and Men's Open, Women 18-29, Women 30-39, Women 40-49, Women 50+, Men 18-29, Men 30-39, Men 40-49, Men 50+.
  • The Family Run event is non-competitive.
5. Awards
  • The total value of the prizes is 16,000 LEI, and the prizes consist of valuable VOUCHERS offered by KAUFLAND.
  • During the awards ceremony, the first five places in the Women's Open and Men's Open will be awarded for each event: K13, K24, K32 and K38.
  • For age categories we will provide a personalized medal and a printed diploma.

Competitors belonging to the legal professions Magistrates (prosecutors, judges) ranked on the podium will be awarded only with a diploma and a cup or medal, regardless of whether the respective place also has prizes. They will have to announce this at the awards ceremony, before the prizes are handed out.

Depending on weather conditions, the recommended equipment may become mandatory and other elements may be added.

7. Bib number

The race number is mandatory. It must be worn in front and visible throughout the race. Failure to comply with this rule may lead to the participant's disqualification. A runner who does not wear his race number implicitly assumes the fact of not being considered part of the event with the following implications: prohibited access to the starting lane, prohibited access to the hydration/food points, non-awarding of the finisher medal, lack of guidance by volunteers on the running route, lack of time in the ranking, lack of event photos, etc.

A personalized race bib featuring the participant’s first name is guaranteed for those who register by June 20, 2026.

8. TIME KEEPING

Timing is manual. The time based on which the ranking will be drawn up will be the raw time, that is, the time between the start and the finish line.

To the extent possible, we will also provide the runners with the net time, i.e. the time between crossing the start line and crossing the finish line, but this time will not be taken into account when compiling the ranking. If 2 competitors run the route at the same time, one will receive place x, and the other place x+1.

The Family Run event is non-competitive.

9. Participation kit pickup

Each registered and paid participant receives the Predeal Forest Run participation kit.

ATTENTION! Parents who run in the family run ONLY as companions of their children, as they are registered for another race within the event (K13, K24, K32 or K38), will ONLY receive the kit for the race they are registered for. For the Family Run race, only the children they accompany and who have a paid registration will receive a kit.

To pick up the participation kit, you must present your ID and the declaration on your own responsibility. The declaration can be signed online according to the email received during the week of the event or you can come to pick up the kit with the printed and signed declaration. The declaration can be downloaded from here. There will be no printed declarations on site. There will be no printed declarations on site.
The kits will be handed over exclusively during the announced period. In case the registration holder cannot arrive, the kits can also be picked up by a delegated person, with the participation declaration completed and signed by the participant and completed by the delegated person at the witness section. It is necessary for the delegated person to present a copy of the holder's identity card and the personal identity card. ATTENTION! The persons delegated to pick up the participation kit will not receive the competition number, it will be handed over only to the registered person. The competition number can be picked up by the participant later, with the identity card. For safety reasons, participation in the event with the competition number of another participant is prohibited.

10. Contest route

Start location: Predeal, Romania, base of Clabucet slope, July 12, 2025, as follows:

    • K38 Marathon - Saturday, July 11, start time 09.15 AM | time limit: 8 hours
    • K32 - Saturday, July 11, start time 09.15 AM | time limit: 8 hours
    • K13 Cross Country - Saturday, July 11, start time 09:30 AM | time limit 4 hours
    • K24 Half Marathon - Saturday, July 11, start time 09.45 AM | time limit: 6 hours and 30 minutes

After the time limit has expired, please keep in mind that you will be following the route at your own risk as the marking and supply points are being tightened, the emergency number is no longer valid (call 112 directly), volunteers will no longer be at the points, and the mountain rescue service will no longer be at the points.

  • Family Run - Saturday, July 11, start time: 5:30 PM
  • If you fail to complete the route within the allotted time limit, our volunteers will assist you in withdrawing to the finish line. Refusal to withdraw from the race and from the route may endanger both the participant and the rescue teams and members of the organizing team. Refusal to withdraw from the route leads to the automatic disqualification of the participant and the informing of the Mountain Rescue about the incident. The supply and orientation points for the participants on the route will no longer be available. If a participant refuses to stop from the race despite the referees' instructions and as a result of this decision a rescue or intervention operation takes place to evacuate the participant from the route, the costs related to this intervention will be borne by the participant and charged to him/her. Also, in such a situation, the participant becomes directly responsible for any injury suffered by a member of the organizing team during the rescue and/or evacuation operations of the participant.

The running route will be marked by the organizer with marking tape and will be supervised by race referees, located at various points along the route.

The running surface is 80% - 90% mountain trails and may have bumps, tree roots, etc. Depending on the precipitation, certain sections may be covered with mud. Runners are required to wear appropriate equipment for the running surface (trail).
Hydration and feeding stations will be located in the start/finish area and along the route. All points have water and isotonic. There are two feeding points on the cross-country route, 4 feeding points on the half-marathon route, and 7 such points and one hydration point with a limit of 150ml/participant on the 32 km and marathon routes. The control stations will be located at each major change of direction and have the purpose of observing the passage of competitors by competition number, as well as optimizing the orientation of the runners.
Participants must always follow the official route, listen to the instructions of the course officials and not use shortcuts or any similar measures. It is the responsibility of the participants to follow the official route closely. Participants who leave the course, for whatever reason, must rejoin the course at the same point they left.
It is prohibited under any circumstances to throw debris, packaging, glasses or any other materials on the route, as a sign of respect for the environment.Este interzisa sub orice circumstanta aruncarea resturilor, ambalajelor, paharelor sau orice alte materiale pe traseu, in semn de respect pentru mediul inconjurator.

If any participant is unable or unwilling to continue the race for any reason, they must immediately inform the organizers either at the checkpoints or by calling the phone number on the competition number.
The organizer also reserves the right to stop a participant if he or she is injured, and continuing the race may worsen the situation for him or those around him.

In cazul unor conditii meteorologice nefavorabile sau/si alte conditii speciale, organizatorul isi rezerva dreptul de a opri cursa sau de a modifica bariera orara si/sau traseul. Modificarile de traseu vor fi anuntate in prealabil. Organizatorul isi rezerva dreptul de a anula/amana cursa in cazuri exceptionale cu conditia ca toti participantii sa fie anuntati in prealabil. In caz de forta majora, prin aceasta intelegem orice evenimente care ar putea influenta buna desfasurare a evenimentului cum ar fi: inundatii majore, dezastre naturale sau evenimente politice majore, agravarea pandemiei de SARS COV-2, restrictii legale in legatura cu desfasurarea evenimentelor care ii determina pe organizatori sa anuleze competitia, taxa de participare nu va fi returnata, se va stabili alta data pentru desfasurarea competitiei.

11. Compliance with safety rules

 

  • Mountain running involves several safety provisions, and respecting them helps to avoid unpleasant events. The route is winding, please be careful of bumps, branches, stumps and in general the specific elements of a rough terrain. Also, certain portions of the route, the narrow path may be bordered by precipices on one of the sides (example: the path to Piatra Mare peak), steep slopes or ramps. Be cautious and do not hesitate to call the first aid teams or call the emergency number printed on the competition number, if you find yourself in a dangerous situation. Also, if you notice an incident or another participant who needs help, please report this to the emergency number printed on the competition number and also notify the nearest volunteer (whether in the running direction or the opposite direction). Announcing the volunteer is very important because it helps identify the point on the route where the incident occurs and where the intervention team needs to arrive.
  • Keep in mind that in the forest you may encounter wild animals such as bears, vipers or wild boars. Avoid any contact with them. If you encounter a wild animal, stay calm and move away from it. Make as much noise as possible to make your presence felt. We recommend that you have your mobile phone with you throughout the run. If possible, stay close to other runners.
  • The organizer assumes no responsibility for material losses or damages, exposure to extreme circumstances: illness, contact/collision with other participants, spectators, volunteers, unfavorable weather conditions, injuries caused by running conditions in the forest: interaction with wild animals (bears, vipers, wild boars, deer, dogs, etc.), wasp stings, disability, serious bodily injury or even death.
  • Tineti cont ca din cauza terenului accidentat si a potecilor inguste, interventia auto este ingreunata, iar in unele locuri imposibila.
  • It is important to inform yourself about the characteristics of the route and the positioning of the hydration and feeding points, so that you can best manage your effort and resources and enjoy the race as much as possible. Make sure you have the right equipment for the weather and temperature during the event.
  • It is strictly forbidden to listen to music on headphones or block out the sound of the environment while running!

 

12. Copyright

By registering for the competition, all participants automatically authorize the organizers, including race partners, to use and reproduce any material containing statements or images of the participants running or not. The materials and photos will be used to promote the event.

13. Final grades and penalties

Participants are required to read and follow the instructions presented in the Race Day section, which will be available before the event, before the event day, and to listen to and follow the instructions of the organizers at the event venue.

By participating in this competition, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Regulations.

The Regulation is drawn up and made public in accordance with Romanian law, being available on the website www.predealforestrun.ro. The Organizers reserve the right to modify or change these Official Regulations, such modifications will enter into force only after publishing a prior announcement presenting these modifications on the website www.predealforestrun.ro.

These violations lead to disqualification:

 

  • The participant will be disqualified if the competition number is not attached to the T-shirt / blouse on the front.
  • Changing or replacing the number (including in case of loss) is not allowed on race day, nor is changing the competition numbers between runners.
  • Missing a checkpoint.
  • Failure to comply with competition rules.
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior towards other participants, officials, the public or other persons.
  • Throwing debris, packaging, glasses or other objects/things in the forest.
  • Attending the event with pets that may obstruct participants on the running route or cause incidents in the event area.

 

The organizers also undertake to comply with the provisions of Law no. 677/2001 on the protection of personal data. Therefore, the organizers undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants and winners of this competition and to use them in accordance with these Regulations and the legislation in force. The organizers are not responsible for any unauthorized disclosure of personal and confidential information caused by cyber attacks or data theft.

By registering for the Predeal Forest Run, participants agree to receive messages from the organizer about its activity, about other events organized by it or in which it is a partner.

The Organizers and Partners of the Predeal Forest Run event will not assume any liability in relation to the actions/inactions committed by a participant during the event, which would cause material or moral damage to third parties, natural and/or legal. In relation to participation in a race, the responsibility for the safety of personal belongings that were not entrusted to the organizer during the race lies entirely with the participants in the competition, Running Media Consulting SRL, Asociatia Alergam de Placere and Partners not offering any kind of insurance, implicit or explicit, in this regard.
